Mobile Arts Space

New Forest UK

Spudworks working in partnership with Culture in Common and New Forest District Council commissioned an innovative, mobile performance structure to take high‑quality arts and culture to towns and villages across the New Forest.

Our competition submission was led by J&J Carter Tensile structures in collaboration with Altura Structural engineers and Artist Kitty Culpeper-Gausden.

Our tensile structure combined what is known as a Pringle form (after the popular snack) with two separate arches to cover a performance-activity space and 120 seated spectators.
