This 3 bedroom house is a sister dwelling to an early 20th century Arts and Crafts brick villa located on the outskirts of the city.

It was important to the client that the new house was referential and respectful to its older sibling. We made use of a half storey change in level from entrance to garden, that reduced scale and provided some separation.

A sequence of living spaces step down the slope to the garden, with the stair making use of the half landing for the second bedroom. The master bedroom on the first floor faces the garden, with a guest room occupying the loft triangle above.

Full planning permission was achieved in 2022
