Project & design lead - Design Engine Architects - 2025

Originally, this £6m project was won in a competition in 2016. It was completed this January 2025, officially opening in May 2025. Various site locations and educational arrangements and models were explored.

The building has 3 workshops and a prep room on the lower floor, with 4 design studios above.

Working with Buro Happold, the building aspires to be a case study CLT project, where its method of construction and detail is revealed as an educational tool to the students studying within it. Similarly, services are exposed and colour coded.

A gallery space sits behind a “loggia” elevation, with spectacular views out across the historic estate.
