This was an open competition (Spud projects) for a mobile artist’s look out, collaborating with local artist, Stephen Cooper. (CGI images by Richard James, Architect)

This was a very simple mobile unit that could be regularly relocated, towed behind a 4X4. The unit needed to be closed up in the evenings for security, so incorporated an integral shutter and blind.

Stephen was interested in the idea of observing and being observed, typified by a binocular silhouette. He produced a series of paintings and collages that helped to inform the final design.
