Investigate & Assembly Space

Natural History Museum London

Project architect - Pentagram - 2001

These two projects for the NHM London, provided an interactive educational environment for visiting school groups and a place to assemble.

A display wall ran the length of the basement space, from which trays with experiments could be selected. Triangular island lab benches served as workstations.

The assembly space managed large school groups, before they accessed the museum’s galleries.

As a Pentagram project, we worked with the graphics teams on the brand and displays.

The new installation had to carefully integrate with the listed Waterhouse building.
